Project GOAL has been created from 6 partnership organizations from 5 countries:
Gdyńskie Centrum Sportu (Poland)
An institution of local public administration (budget unit of the municipality of Gdynia) authorized to represent the city in projects related to sport and recreation. GSC has been appointed to carry out one of the most important missions of any modern city, which is to create conditions for the development of the sports activity of the inhabitants of Gdynia.
For over 20 years, GSC makes an effort to encourage all inhabitants of Gdynia – regardless of age, gender, origin or physical ability – to do sport by organizing free activities and presenting benefits of being active.
Gdynia Sports Centre in 2013 has created and implemented special programme called “Gdynia’s Movement” that contains a various sports activities. Within this programme there are a lot of weekly, free of charge sport classes for adults and children. Seniors can attend classes such as pilates, joga, Nordic Walking, Zumba and fitness. GSC also organises every year an event dedicated to seniors called ‘Day of Active Senior’ during which seniors can do medical tests and try different types of sports with professional trainers.
Asociatia Grupul de Actiune Locala Napoca Porolissum (Romania)
An NGO in which members are:
– the Local Councils of municipalities in the Rural Area (13 Communes and 1 small town) from Cluj County, Romania;
– private companies (involved in agriculture, tourism, services etc.)
– other NGO’s involved in tourism, educational, social and cultural activities.
The organisation has in its territory many functions, such as: strengthening the capacity of local actors to develop and implement operations, including their ability to promote project management, making operational decisions related to the implementation of LDS (or early detection of problems).
The main activity is promoting and encouraging local development, by managing and offering project grants to local actors, according to priorities set through a Local Development Strategy (LDS). This LDS was validated and authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and encompasses all the domains outlined as important for the territory, not just agriculture. Besides granting funds to local actors, LEADER is included in the CLLD initiative. Community-Lead Local Development means engaging local actors for developing the area, but using multiple funds, and directly through the organization.
Folkuniversitetet Stiftelsen Vid Lunds Universitet (Sweden)
An adult educational association that offers a wide range of adult education all over Sweden. It is an association of five foundations: the university extensions attached to the Universities of Stockholm, Uppsala, Göteborg, Lund and Umeå. It has a broad open educational program in a variety of subjects; it also runs upper secondary schools, schools in higher vocational education, courses forseniors and training, labour market education and further education and training for working life.
Adults, including elderly people can take part in workshops and trainings such as computer education, social media, photography, theatre and art classes and much more. One of its part is a Senior University that has around 600 members in Kristianstad. Senior University is the university of pensioners for pensioners. Associations for the “Third Age University” – in a number of towns in Sweden and abroad. A total of some 30 associations with over 25,000 members across the country that operate in cooperation with Folkuniversitetet. Organization operates also in the field of staff trainings, preparing and adapting educational programs to the needs of participants.
Ljudska Univerza, Zavod Za Izobrazevanje in Kulturo, Rogaska Slatina (Slovenia)
A non-profit adult education and training provider for the community in the local region and wider. LURS is implementing the idea of accessibility of lifelong learning to people of different generations – does not only offer people the opportunity to get involved in educational programs, but also provides free information and counseling, organized self-study and learning assistance.
Organization offers its learners 10 formal educational programmes that include both secondary schools and vocational training programmes in the field of catering, gastronomy, cookery, sales, economy, childcare or tourism. LURS is constantly developing new programmes and is adapting the existent one in accordance with the needs and desires of the adult population for further training and education. The organization also offers various personal growth programmes, workshops, computer courses for the unemployed and elderly, language courses, computer courses and accounting and many educational programmes for adults with special needs for the local Care Work Centre.
LURS also has a very active University for Third Age, where it offers various lifelong learning activities to people over 55.
Municipio de Lousada (Portugal)
An institution of local public administration. It aims to pursuit the interests of the population in the territorial space of Lousada Council. Its mission is to define guiding strategies and execute the resulting municipal policies towards sustainable development of the municipality, contributing to the increased competitiveness of it, in local, regional and national levels, through measures and programs in various areas of their competence, promoting the quality of life of its citizens and ensuring high standards of quality services.
Municipality of Lousada gives major importance to the occupation of free-time of the elderly people in Lousada. It has been working with elderly people for over 10 years, organising groups operating in each parish. These special groups accompanied by volunteers develop almost every day of the week several social and cultural activities dedicated to seniors.
Stowarzyszenie Promocji Zdrowego Stylu Życia “Jestem Ważny” (Poland)
The main areas of the Association Jestem Wazny are nutritional and health education, improvement of the nutritional status of children and adults, and nutritional consulting. The association specializes in innovative methods of nutritional education and works as a substantive consultant with local entities initiating or supporting projects in the area of public health. Jestem Ważny with a great success prepares and consults documents, educational programmes, guidelines regarding to health for public institutions such as universities, municipalities or medical centres.
Association organizes a lot of workshops for children, youth, adults and seniors that are focused on influencing the development of proper health behaviors. Workshops have been organized in form of regular cycle of nutrition education in kindergartens and schools but also few-hour seminars with adults or seniors. Jestem Ważny organises seminars about health for dozens participants but also is invited for external seminars in a role of speaker.
Association has got big experience in running health programmes that are fully authorial.
